Hi guys! William here, and I have something important to share with you. There's good news and bad news. Which should I tell you first?
You can't actually answer that because I've already written the whole thing ahead of time.
The bad news is Outcast Kingdom will be on temporary hiatus.
[pft like thats anything new lol]
Go away self-doubt. You're not helping. Also, your punctuation is atrocious.
Anyways, the thing is that I haven't been satisfied with my art, and that should never be the case. You should always enjoy creating art and telling stories. Those are labors of love, and should never leave you feeling so unfulfilled.
Also, the way I draw takes way too long-- made longer by the aforementioned dissatisfaction.
And I can't go on like this, creating art that I am dissatisfied with.
Something has to change.
I think what I need is an evolution in my drawing style.
The good news?
Well, let me introduce you to Olwyn. Say hi to the nice people.
"♫Hello! I'm Olwyn. Nice to meet you!"
Isn't she something?
So Olwyn's agreed to help me on this journey of discovery.
Basically, it's going to go something like this: Instead of forcing myself to upload art that I feel is sub-par, I'm going draw Olwyn in the styles of various artists, illustrators, and cartoonists I like and post the results here. Hopefully, I will learn from all this and eventually develop a new style of drawing that A) is simple enough to draw and upload comic pages more frequently, and B) I can actually share without feeling unsatisfied with what I've made.
Sorry for rambling, but it had to be said.
So if that's the journey on which I find myself. And if you come with me, maybe you'll learn something, too.
I posted a topic in the forums about it*. I'll be taking requests for what styles I will draw in (but no promises that any particular suggestions will be taken). And if you want to do something similar, feel free to post your results there as well.
Well, I think that about wraps it up. Thanks for listening.
"Hey, do you need anything else from me?"
Not yet. We'll probably start within a few days. I just need to finish up a previous picture I was working on and come up with what art style I should try first.
"Okay! Just let me know when I can help."
I will. Thanks again.
"No problem!"
Well that's all, folks.
Take care!

A Tentative Return
Last time I posted here was in November of 2020. Before that was February of the same year. So, yeah. I haven't been active lately. Depression's been rough. Mental energy and stress tolerance are low. The fact that my uploads haven't gotten a single comment since Sunset (almost four years ago!) has been discouraging, too. But I haven't been entirely idle. I've written a little bit, just haven't posted it online. Today I decided, "what the heck". I uploaded two short stories, one Argent related, one not. We'll see how things go. Hopefully, I'll be able to post more soon. (I have two more new stories that are almost done. If I can get around to finishing them, I'll post them here. If things go well.) Also, I've been dabbling in tabletop game design. I might bring that up too if things go well here. If anyone's reading this, I hope you're doing well. Making art is good for you. Keep creating, and help or encourage others when you can. DFTBA!
a new Argent City Story (for realsies this time!)
It's been almost a year since I mentioned the 'maybe-not-canonical' Argent City story. And I've been working on it, but not as much as I should have been. And aside from a short side-story, I haven't posted anything in the AC saga since.
So for 2019, I'm going to start posting it at last! It's been hard to find the motivation to write some times, but I already have a good chunk of it done(ish), so with that buffer I should be able to post at a semi-regular rate. Actually posting and having people aware of it should give me enough motivation to keep going.
Remember that your feedback matters to me. It gives me SUSTINANCE...!
I hope you all
The next Argent City Story (?!?)
So. I've started writing another Argent City story, but it's a little different this time around. This MIGHT be a non-canon story, 'cause it's kind of a rip-off of someone else's creation that I really like. So it may wind up being a fan-fic of my own literature... which sounds kinda lame now that I say it out loud, but I like this story I'm writing, so I'm gonna keep writing it.
I'll probably start posting it pretty soon, too-- canon or not.
What is it a rip-off of, you may be thinking? Well, I don't want to give too much away, so you'll have to wait and see (though it is something I have mentioned at some point here on my DA account).
2018, and what it brings
So I've got some plans for the new year (I'm sure we all do)
1) I'm working on a tabletop game. So I may not do as much writing as I'd like, but I will where I can. I may post some stuff here if there is interest.
2) When I do write, It'll probably be either on the next Argent City story (not yet sure what it would be about), or a new story-- maybe even a novel. But I don't have any specific plans yet.
3) Some real-life stuff that isn't interesting or exciting-- the details of which I'll spare you, but do need to be taken care of anyway.
Either way, I probably won't be posting too much here. Then again, I don't post much here anyway, so..

you are your biggest critic. Beware of you.
also...I have done the same thing. I was just feeling so bleh about writing KS, so I just drew the characters in pre-existing styles I felt they belonged in the universe of >> << it was actually very motivating. My style changed so frequently in the 2000s though so it was also a sort of self discovery. Which I hope you will come to
if I can make a suggestion here... Calvin and Hobbes style would probably be neat.
