The Super Seven by Willdabeast-0305 The Super Seven by Willdabeast-0305
Years before Allen Marlow became Paragon, the champion of Argent City, he was an up-and-coming hero called The Defender. Shortly after his graduation from being Guardian Man's side kick, he joined a new team called The Super Seven. The team was very successful for several years and did exceptionally well during that time, but was eventually disbanded. A short time later, he returned to Argent to take up the position that his mentor had left vacant years before.

Some of the members of The Super Seven I have more background and information on (Allen, obviously. As well as, to some extent, Io (Yes, she was part of that team, too)). I have some background on the giant, as well as the two other women (black and yellow clad members). The guy in the red costume I have a vague idea on, but the green guy is just a blank. I have no idea who he is or what his power is. He's just a filler guy, I guess. For now at least. (Maybe I'll give him a better costume when I have some clue who he is.)
Also, at the time of this writing, none of them but Defender and Io have names yet... (but I do have powers for most of them)

I want to write about this team at some point. Some of them are actually really cool and I am quite impatient to tell you about them.

And yes-- there are four girls and three guys, because why are super hero teams always a bunch of guys plus a few token females?

Also, I'm really surprised there isn't already a team called "the Super Seven". I'm already going to have to change a couple of names when I revise the story. Namely Doctor Nefarious-- which happens to also be the name of a cartoon villain in... I wanna say Invader Zim...? Something like that. So he'll need a new name. But I'll worry about that later.

(I originally wanted to make it look like an old photograph, with a poloroid border and name the pic "Nostalgia" or something like that, but I have neither the time nor technical know-how to do that. Maybe another time.)

question 2 before I art further:
should I put glasses like those on Io? Or is that optional

EDIT: I see Paragon already had a thing for large bushy hair back then :eyes:

No. In fact, I'm not 100% sure why I drew her with them here. Maybe she wore them back then, but doesn't anymore. Also, I'd rather be able to see her expression more clearly. (Also they're goggles, not glasses. Because science or something?)

As for Paragon... I mostly just wanted to show them as a close-knit group that are fairly comfortable with each other.
Then again, as I mentioned earlier, they may have been a couple for a while. I don't know, I haven't really solidified much about this group yet. But it was some time after he and GG had parted ways, so it's entirely possible.
They do both have amazing, big, poofy hair, so there IS that...

oh...woops, I could've totally assumed that myself about the goggles ^^;

Paragon's potential preferences are fantastic, by the way

guy in green should have the superpower of knowing the right thing to say in a tragic situation. :o what a power!

I kid Probably

yellow-clad woman looks awesome! I love her outfit, pose, and I assume she has a pretty fantastic attitude.

Also, beta Paragon.  I've always liked Paragon though.

I have gone through the same thing when naming projects, characters, locations... I don't really watch a lot of tv. I never really got into Invader Zim either so chances are I've accidentally named something 'after' a theme in that show myself. Totally awkward. :/

the 'old photograph' idea reminds me of The Watchmen(movie) where they all get their picture taken in... the 60s I believe? That movie makes me uncomfortable for various reasons so I haven't seen it in a while >>;; but that sort of idea was pretty good in that case and seems decent in this case too. Filters and whatnot should help but eh.

Thank you! Her over-all design is inspired by funk / disco styles (unless I'm getting my terms mixed up) that probably would have been pretty retro, even at the time this picture would have been taken. I'm imagining her as the sort of person with a lot of attitude, but also enough sense to not be obnoxious about it. Like... loud and proud, but also considerate, or something like that. I don't want her to be that kind of cliche 'all attitude' jerk, but not exactly modest, either. The more I think about it... I'm starting to wonder if she and Allen may have been a thing for a while. Hm...

At this point, he hasn't quite found his groove. He's started wearing body armor, but hasn't picked up the knight motif yet.

funk and disco have a few intertwining themes
your description reminds me of a friend of mine xD and the character actually could very easily be cosplayed by the friend I have in mind.

Paragon, even from that one excerpt in the story describing him as a child with the building collapse, seems kindly... knightly even without it being a visual theme. ^^; He's a cool guy :'3
